Down Royal is one of the finest galloping courses in Ireland with a circuit of almost two miles.

The course was established by Royal Charter in 1865 and has a long illustrious history as a center of excellence for horse racing. Today Down Royal hosts a calendar of twelve race meetings a year including the Ulster derby in July and a Festival of racing in November.
